Scholarships: British Council

Scholarships: British Council
Five Malaysians who take their IELTS test with the British Council between February and July will be awarded with scholarships valued at US$3,500 (RM10,675) each.

The scholarship is valid for an undergraduate or a postgraduate programme outside Malaysia to assist students with their tuition fees.

One of the scholarships will be exclusively awarded to a student who will be applying to a higher education institution in the United States.

British Council Malaysia’s deputy country exams manager Deep Adhikari said that students may use the scholarship at any university in any country outside Malaysia that recognises the test.

“The British Council IELTS scholarship is another way we are offering value to our IELTS candidates,” he said.

To qualify for the scholarship, the applicant must be either a Malaysian citizen or currently living in Malaysia, and will begin undergraduate or postgraduate study in 2011. Additionally, applicants should have a minimum overall score of Band 6.5.

A total of 20 applicants will be shortlisted and informed via e-mail by Aug 12.

The shortlisted applicants will then be required to give a presentation to an assessment panel. For further information, go to
